Home Sweet Home!

The place where one lives permanently, especially as a member of a family or household is considered a home. As you grow older home can become more then one place depending on the individual. That can be with family, friends, or a soulmate. As you grow older home can change, you can lose a relationship with your parents, move out, or go to college and decided once you graduate you want to be on your own. Home to me is at my parents house with my mom, dad, brother, and son. I have lived there all 20 years of my life and have such special memories in the house I will never forget. Home to me is a very special place. Home to me is a place where you spend quality time with both your family or friends. It is where I spend special time with my family and son. We always have dinner together every night, we have game nights, and movie nights. All though I may not be there all the time bemuse of work, school, or other priorities I hold it very close to my heart. Home is what you make of it and I cherish my home. My family is my back bone and always picks me up when I'm about to break. I one day hope to move into a house with my boyfriend and son so that we can call it home together as a small family. Although, my parents house will ALWAYS be considered home to me. Another place I call home would be work and school. I spend 3-4 days a week at work and the rest of the time I am at school studying so I can graduate and make my son proud. Home is what you make of it and I choose to make the best of it. Life is to short to take anything for granted.

My journey throughout life

Liberty High School
From elementary school to high school the education, learning content, and expectations have changed tremendously. I attended Asa Packer Elementary school and  Liberty High School. Both schools are located in Bethlehem Pennsylvania. My parents have always supported me and pushed me to be the best I could be in school and without them school wouldn't be possible.  My parents once said to me "nothing comes easy in life, but as long as you work hard and follow your dreams anything in life is possible." As I look back now on the great education and teachers I had growing up, I would not be where I am today in life without them. They have taught me many different things such as simple mathematics, how to read at may different levels, how to write my name, how to write in sentences, and how to write in cursive. One thing I always struggled with was writing in cursive but all the hard work I did outside of school helped me conquer writing in cursive. As I look back on school, i don't just think about the content I have learned but I remember all of the great friends I have made and relationships I have built with teachers over the years. I remember all of the fun things we did in elementary school to help us socialize with one another. From all the book fairs, field days (they were my favorite!), going shopping at the little gift shop for our family members during christmas, as well as all the amazing fundraisers we did. High school on the other hand was not all fun and games. High school focused on higher education and helping prepare you for the next level of education, college. Looking back on school today, I realize all the great friends I have made, all the big and little steps that have helped me throughout life, as well as all of the learning content I have learned that will help me through college and beyond. Education is a huge part of life and will follow you wherever you go in life.

Meet Janeiah!

Last Tuesday I had the privilege of meeting a handful of new people and getting to know one of my classmates, Janeiah. Janeiah is 17 years old and currently attends Liberty High School in Bethlehem Pennsylvania. She will be graduating high school this year, 2017. Janeiah is currently apart of the duel enrollment program at Northampton Community College. She got chosen through Liberty High School as 1 of 4 students who were eligible to take a college course. Duel enrollment gives the opportunity to high school students to take college classes while still being in high school. The college course they take will then transfer to whatever college they choose to go to after they graduate. While being a full time student, Janeiah works at McDonalds. She hates working there but they work very well with her schedule. She has a younger brother that is 15 years old and would love to take a family vacation to Florida because they have never gone on a vacation before. Janeiah intends on returning to Northampton Community Collage after high school to major in culinary arts. Janeiah fell in love with culinary back in 10th grade when she started taking culinary classes at vo-tech. She is a very hands on learner and believes cooking would be a great fit for her. Her favorite food to cook is steak, seafood, chicken, mashed potatoes, and vegetables (yummy!!). After graduating from Northampton Community College, Janeiah plans on attending CIA collage located in New York. She had the opportunity of walking through the campus with her vo-tech class. She loved the collage campus and throughout it was absolutely beautiful! After Janeiah is done with college and pursuing her dreams, she one day would like to settle down and start a family.

I really enjoyed getting to know Janeiah! she is a very nice young lady who has such a bright future ahead of her.
